Post meeting wrap-up Elevator Hallway
TH OK so the whole concept is we have uh OK so each feature is wrapped in some
sort of just forum and the way that we construct our various products be it free
source or commercial product or whatever is going to be based on what set of
defines is set so this def Java used to mean something..
JR Thats the one that were working on thats what Im concerned about but Ill talk
to him and Ill get message put in
TH OK so if that Java used to mean something effectively were turning it all on or off
it may or may not mean anything right now
JR Theyre actually theyre trying to tie it in together with. .the Win Base on window
16 Java on and off theyre trying to use some of that infrastructure to help them do
this
TH OK good What would be really cool is if we could end up in world where there
is some define that means Java so that free source turns it off and commercial
product turns it on and the world is good and birds are singing
JR Thats what were going for
Th OK good Urn if youre not familiar with should send some of my guys over to
talk to you about. .so that we can just make sure...OK so let me get Sarah....see
the problem is Moz Medium was finished on or was rnostly done on Windows as is
still under progress on UNIX
JR You and Raman are the guys that are cutting away and someone whos really
familiar with this should just chat with them but told them that their marching
orders are cut wildly and get the sucker out of there and then were going to go
back in and try and make nice if anyone has other suggestions for adjustments but
first want proof aggressively that its clean and and it has to work Brian
though. .1 know know want everything

JR Right Theyre sitting in Ramans desk
TH OK Don come talk to me And we think Monday theyre going to be here or you
sent em home or whats the deal with that
JR think they both tend to work weekends especially if theyre psyched So my
guess is even though Ill tell you my policy wont insist at all in fact but theyre
really trying to get it done at all but theyre really trying to get it done tonight and
they said Monday is not at all out of the question they expect it so think itll
work
TH So where are you with the UNIX moz medium work
goatie Im on the last meg file Uh yeah Uh Acana has the icons Thats gonna be
big problem But shes gonna go work with Steve Lam and get those done and
get those done and hopefully shell get those done will have it building and be
ready to check in monday is what Im looking for
Til OK lets go talk to Huby and Raman and make sure that the Java team is in synch
with what youre doing so that we can put that in the likeness.mk

MT Well Were either going to succeed in getting
the bug count drastically reduced
today or were not going to make our self-imposed deadline whether that means
we fall entirely uh we invent new self imposed deadlines we change the rules of
what it means to make the deadline those are all uh negotiable But the first thing
Im going to do is to make sure that what you decided to do you failed before you
go decide to do something different So were going to give it one more try
